How Does a Paint Consultation Work?

You are probably wondering how an online paint consultation work as I will not physically set foot in your space. So how do we do it? Lots and lots of photos and a questionnaire. I also use my years of experience and my design expertise in recognizing what will work in your space. I am a certified Benjamin Moore paint consultant and have completed over 9 hours of Benjamin Moore paint training, in addition, I also implement the Maria Killam’s color wheel in recognizing undertones. To achieve balance in your color selection, I also apply my 60:30:10 ratio for your room  –  this means that 60% of the room should be Color A, 30% should be Color B and 10% should be your accent color.

The 3-Step Process

Step 1: Once you have placed your order, you will receive our questionnaire within 24 hours. Complete the questionnaire, this will give us insight on your lifestyle and how your room is used and your design style. Want to speed up the process? Then complete the Questionnaire in advance

Step 2: Submit at least 6 photos of your space from all angles, make sure you include furniture, wall, and floor coverings, art, and décor. Also make sure you take photos of all your finishes, such as counter tops, hardware, and lighting fixtures. We would need photos on a sunny and a cloudy day, and also a mid-morning and mid-afternoon photo. All photos should be taken without flash. We would also need to know what type of lighting you have, warm and or cool light bulbs, etc.

Step 3: Within 2-4 working days you will receive your Personalised Paint Package digitally from us. When choosing your paint colors we use all the information in your questionnaire together with your photos. When making our selection we take the following into account:

• Your current furniture and décor, its style and color family

• Natural lighting and your exposure, if you have North or South facing rooms these are important considerations

• Artificial lighting sources and the temperature of your light bulbs

• We implement the Divine ratio of 60:30:10 taking all the above into account

What will I receive in my personalised Paint Package?

1.     Benjamin Moore paint colour combinations (Two-color palettes per room) - Each room will receive two color palettes that are personally chosen for you. Each color palette will have 3 color options that will work in your space.

3.       Details on the paint selections, including the Product Name, the Paint color, and number as well as the desired finish such as matte, eggshell.

4.     Sampling tips - We will also provide tips on how to paint your test areas in your home, so that you can make the final decision with confidence.

5.      Bonus - we will also recommend a neutral paint color that will work perfectly for trim and doors.
